On November 1, millions of Americans will check their SNAP balance and find nothing new there — no refill, no relief. Not because the country can’t afford to feed them, but because the people elected to represent them are too busy scoring political points to sign a compromise.
In Colorado, that means families across Denver, Pueblo, Grand Junction, and the Eastern Plains will head to grocery stores with empty cards and full hearts of dread. And they won’t be alone. Similar stories will play out in Kansas, Texas, California, and Maine — every corner of a nation that once prided itself on never letting its own go hungry.
This isn’t about left or right.
It’s about right and wrong.
A facist dictator of a leader who is doing everything that he can do encourage this shutdown to drag on? Throwing petty tantrums, making threats to make it worse, all because he doesn’t like the other side?
Do not call yourself a God Fearing Man or Woman if you are on board with that truly utter bullshite.
You are not God Fearing, you are not Christian, you are a hater who is either unwilling to see the man in office you wanted for what he truly is or you just one uneducated inbred who wants to watch the US fall.
The Real Face of the Shutdown
The federal shutdown, this one manufactured by pride and political theater by republicans, doesn’t just “pause spending.” It freezes meals, medications, rent payments, and dignity.
In Washington, the debate is abstract:“budgets,” “continuing resolutions,” “fiscal discipline.”
On Colfax Avenue, it’s real, a single mom with two kids trying to stretch a dollar into a dinner. In Alamosa, it’s an elderly veteran wondering how to choose between food and prescriptions.
While Congress argues over numbers, real Americans are counting cans.
True Patriotism
Patriotism isn’t about waving flags while your neighbor’s cupboard is bare. It is not yelling about how great the man at the to is whilst he is willing to let your neighbours in need starve to death. It’s not chanting “America First” while Americans go last.
True patriotism, the kind that built this country is about showing up. It is about standing up to leadership or the lack thereof like this. This is not leadership, it is dictatorship at its finest.
That is not what America was, nor has it ever been. We do not let the government step in and starve or cut off benefits for families, vets, the elderly, those in need. We the people have always made a solid promise to this nation as did our forefathers. A promise this administration and his following have long forgotten.
So if our leaders won’t act with decency, then it is time that we do.
Donate to your local food banks in Denver that might be Food Bank of the Rockies, Metro Caring, or Community Table in Arvada. In every state, there’s a warehouse of volunteers trying to do the job that our government won’t. They’re tired, underfunded, and running out of supplies just as the need is exploding.
Five dollars. Five cans. Five minutes. It all counts.
Food banks, and churches, reach out to the community, some work 8-5’s and food bank hours of receiving are not conducive to that, help us help you.
Why This Moment Matters
Food is not a luxury, the truth is simple and brutal, hunger doesn’t wait for politics to work itself out. Kids can’t “hold tight” until Congress finds compromise. Seniors can’t pause their appetites until the next vote passes.
If we can afford campaign rallies, billion-dollar bailouts, and endless wars of ego, we can afford to feed our own.
So while politicians starve the programs that sustains America’s most vulnerable, the rest of us can prove that decency isn’t dead yet, it’s just been outsourced to the people.
We the People are the real leaders of this country and it’s about time we show up to the table and show these so called elected officials how it’s really handled.
This is A Call to Action
This November 1, let’s make noise not in outrage, but in action.
Donate. Volunteer. Organize food drives at schools, churches, workplaces, and community centers. Post local donation links. Knock on a neighbor’s door.
Because if our government can’t model compassion, we will.
Patriotism doesn’t always look like fireworks, sometimes it looks like a box of cereal in a food bank bin, a bag of apples dropped off at a shelter, or a community that refuses to look away while its own go hungry.
America has been tested again and again, and each time we’ve survived not because of Washington, but because of each other.
So let’s do it again. Let’s feed our people. Let’s remind the world that when politics fails, humanity doesn’t have to.
Real American’s, Real American Patriots have always fought for and with the people, not this bullshite in Washington and most certainly not for a tyrant leader who behaves more like a raving lunatic who didn’t get his way, and those of us who are the Real Patriotic American’s that I know you can be, it’s time for us to step in and help our own.
Real Patriots
Real American’s
Real God Fearing Women and Men
and
Real Hero’s
Do not tolerate a Government that would starve it’s own over egos.
